I've been to New York so many times I can't count. I went to the top of the world trade center the year before they were destroyed. New York will never look the same to me. I went back a few months after the attack and saw ground zero. Probably the closest thing to a war zone my American eyes will ever see. I sat and stared for hours at the hole in the ground and the smoke rising from the ashes.
